Since Plans is SMS-first, most of what you need (invites, reminders, event updates) comes straight to your phone by text. Keeping your notifications on means you won't miss anything important.
What you’ll receive by text
- Event invites and RSVP confirmations
- Reminders and event details (like venue and timing)
- Updates such as “a friend joined” or group reveals
- Check-in prompts and location details
- Next-day debrief links
- Notifications when you’ve made a new friend or match
Turning notifications on
To make sure you don’t miss anything:
- Keep SMS notifications enabled
Make sure your phone allows notifications for messages, and that you haven’t muted or blocked the Plans conversation. This is the main way you’ll receive invites and updates. - Enable Live Activities (optional, iOS)
If you’d like real-time updates on your lock screen, make sure Live Activities are enabled in your iPhone settings.
Turning notifications off or reducing them
Plans doesn't currently have in-app notification controls, so this is managed through your device. You can mute or block the Plans text conversation in your messaging app, or turn off SMS notifications entirely — though keep in mind this affects all texts, not just Plans.
If you do mute or block Plans messages, you may miss invites, venue details, reminders, and debrief links, which could affect your ability to attend events or stay connected afterwards.
